God's Protection in Trouble - Shawna Mertel

In many ways, Shawna has had a life that many of us can relate to. She grew up in a Christian home as the daughter of a southern minister. She married the love of her life and created a family with him. Also, like most marriages, they had their ups and downs. It wasn’t until her husband, Mike, developed an alcohol addiction that things started to turn dark. He became a different man and Shawna had no idea what was in store for her and their family.

Shawna and her two small children arrived home from church one winter Sunday to find that her husband was laying in their bathtub, with an assault rifle on his chest…his face completely gone. Her world was SHATTERED in that moment. He had committed suicide and left her to pick up the pieces, not to mention a mountain of lawsuits and bills.

What happened next is nothing short of a miracle. God showed up when she needed Him the most.
